Financial returns from charter ownership can vary significantly.

Different programs will suit different people and objectives, ranging from:

• annual operating and maintenance costs being being covered; to

• total annual ownership expenses being covered, including finance payments; or

• real income being generated, after all expenses

Much depends on the location chosen, the boat and layout chosen, and the amount of time the boat is available for charter (full year versus part year).

There are many different charter ownership programs available, some with what appear to be very attractive income "guarantees".  We would advise anyone contemplating charter ownership to look rigorously at the totality of the costs and returns, the charter company itself, and the "small print" of any program that appears too good to be true.  To repeat a caveat from an earlier page:
