Elan Standards

Germanischer Lloyd is an independent certifying body with a history dating back more than 150 years in the examination of the design and supervision of the construction of ships and yachts and sets the highest standards in today's boat building industry.

The Elan range of performance cruising yachts and Impression cruisers are all built under the permanent technical supervision of Germanischer Lloyd and built to Sailing Yacht specification on a hull structure designed to give any sailor confidence.

A vessel that is to be classified by Germanischer Lloyd must first be designed to approved drawings.  The construction is then supervised by class surveyors and built from certified materials and components.

Yachts holding a Germanischer Lloyd (GL) Class Certificate meet the highest technical and safety requirements in the boat building industry today, assuring quality, safety, high stability ratings, and high residual value.  Not only does this provide an essential sense of security but is the basis of a sound investment.

Each Elan Yacht carries an individual Germanischer Lloyd certificate as ultimate proof of her quality, durability and safety.
