First Astondoa STEEL launched

"Samurai One" is the first of the new range of mega-yachts in steel and aluminum - going under the descriptive label "STEEL" - from the established shipyard in Santa Pola designed to meet the growing demand for such vessels, not only by the current owners of Astondoa yachts, but by the growing international market.

"Samurai One", a name evocative of eastern luxury, is a private transatlantic yacht - 43.5 meters in length and 8.6 meters in beam - perfectly combining luxury, comfort and functionality keeping intact the spirit of the Astondoa shipyard.

The exterior lines of the yacht are the work of Fulvio Simone, who has chosen aluminum for the superstructure and steel for the hull.  The interior has been drawn by the Italian designer Cristiano Gatto, employing Japanese motifs with numerous works of art, carvings, sculptures, tapestries and Persian rugs, walls and ceilings in shades of red combined with dark colors - all conveying an atmosphere of the exotic East.

The boat boasts four decks, among which are distributed nine cabins: the owner's stateroom, four VIP cabins, and four more for crew.  The yacht also has expansive living areas and several terraces, the topmost complete with Jacuzzi.

The yacht is the closest thing to a floating mansion that can navigate autonomously with a range of over 4,000 miles, as it has tanks to hold 70,000 liters of fuel.  Maximum speed is 16kts and cruising speed is 12-13kts.

Samurai One has a Spanish owner but based on this first STEEL yacht Astondoa has already received commissions for yachts of 45 and 56 meters.
