New 310 model launched to celebrate 60 years of Elan

The new Elan 310 model will be launched in August this year to celebrate 60 years since the founding of Elan Marine.

The 310 will become a fully-fledged member of the Elan performance line and although positioned as an entry level boat she shares the key characteristics of the larger yachts, and a specific goal to combine performance and family cruising accommodation.

In terms of performance: sleek lines with fine entry and beam carried way aft to improve downwind performance, open transom, open pulpit, head stay furler recessed under the deck, twin rudders to provide superb directional control of the boat even when heeled to the limit, removable stemhead, large sail area, integrated genaker pole and genaker deck equipment all in the standard specification.

For sailors also looking for comfortable sailing and a generous living area the new E 310 offers: ergonomic cockpit design for easy movement, all running rigging led to the cockpit where the helmsman can also operate jib winches, two decent size cabins (separated for privacy), a well equipped galley for longer cruising, the possibility of accommodating 2 additional crew members in the salon, a modern interior in Anigre with Wenge floorboards and long list of factory installed extras.

The Elan 310 launch will be in August 2009, with the world premiere at the Southampton Boat Show.
