New Elan 350 nominated for European
Yacht of the Year
A new
Elan 350 model has just been launched following the runaway
success of the new Elan 310.
The Elan 350 also features the
characteristics that made the 310 special, but in a size of boat that has been particularly
popular over the years - small enough to
be manageable for a small crew, a husband and wife for
example, but having real sea-going capability and a turn of
speed that will be considered exceptional in a boat of this
category.
The Elan 350 is relatively lighter
for her length than the 310, and the sail area : wetted
surface ratio also greater. This amounts to a sparkling speed
potential but this blistering performance will be readily
handled through her twin rudders and twin wheel layout -
design features one would normally associatered
only with a boat over 40ft.
The powerful
aft quarters that give the Elan 350 her power and pace
under sail also provide an unrivalled cruising
accommodation, with a really spacious aft cabin and generous
head compartment, and an aft stowage locker that will be the
envy of many larger cruising yachts. Click the thumbnail

see a video review of the Elan 350 by Yachting Word:
The
Elan 350 is very
much in tune with the time – more speed for less effort
– and is expected to make good account of herself in the
ever-increasing programme of short-handed sailing events that
are springing up as well as in the European Yacht of the Year
competition for which yet another Elan has been nominated.
