The new Lagoon 420 was recently offered with optional diesel power in addition to the Hybrid version initially introduced in early 2007.

The standard power in this configuration is twin 40HP Yanmar 3JH4CE diesels with saildrives and an early model off the production line was recently taken for sea trials in France to establish performance under power for this version.

We have taken the numerical results from the sea trial and graphed them below.  Conditions during the sea trial were: 5kts wind, flat seas, 140 gals fuel (c. 90%), 26 gals water (c. 30%), 4 crew.

Highlights: Maximum speed just under 9kts, fuel consumption at around 8kts is around 2 gallons per hours (total for both engines).
