The new Lagoon 420 is now available with optional diesel power in addition to the Hybrid version initially introduced in early 2007.

Standard power for the diesel version is twin 40HP Yanmar 3JH4CE diesels with saildrives but Lagoon has recently announced the option of upgrading to twin 75HP Yanmar 4JH4TCE diesels.  Sea trials with the larger 75HP engines were recently conducted in France and we have taken the results and graphed them below.

Conditions during the sea-trial were adverse: 19kts wind, 3-4ft seas, full fuel (158 gals), 3 crew.

Highlights: Maximum speed just under 11kts, fuel consumption at around 8kts is around 3.5 gallons per hours (total for both engines).
