Elan announces 1000th hull made using VAIL

Elan announces the 1000th hull made using their advanced environmentally friendly VAIL (Vacuum Assisted Infusion Lamination) technology.

Since 2003 Elan has been using only VAIL hull lamination technology through the whole range of their sailing yachts - both the Elan racer/cruiser range and the Elan Impression blue water cruising yachts.

In 2006 Elan upgraded its VAIL technology with a move to 3D VAIL technology.  3D VAIL is a controlled and repeatable vacuum assisted lamination process, where the hull and main stiffeners are laminated in one step.

One shot lamination under vacuum force increases hull stiffness and ensures a perfect joint between hull and stiffeners that reduces the possibility of delamination failure even at high impact loads.

3D VAIL lamination is also better for all involved in the lamination process and further phases of boat production because it avoids contact with resin and ensures minimum VOC and dust emissions.

The Elan shipyard is the leader among production sailing yacht manufacturers using vacuum hull lamination.
